2. Description:

Starch is an important industrial raw material and widely used. The main raw materials of starch production are potato, cassava, corn and wheat. During the starch production process which uses potato as raw material, waste water is mainly from the transport and washing water, separation water, starch water starch residue storage tank waste water and condensate. Separation wastewater is the main starch wastewater due to its large water volume and high COD, BOD content.

The wastewater which uses corn as raw material is mainly from immersion, germ separation, fiber washing, dehydration and other process. The waste water characteristics are water consumption and pollution contents are high, and including a large number of albumen. While the main sources of the wastewater which uses wheat as raw material are sedimentation tank supernatant liquid and centrifuge dehydration, the former’s organic matter content is low, while the latter’s is high. Thus, starch wastewater’s organic and organic nitrogen content is high, and its main components are protein, sugar, fat and etc.

In addition, it also contains a certain amount of nutrients. If only using aerobic process, the energy consumption and cost are high, so it commonly uses “anaerobic+aerobic” process, anaerobic process can adopt IC, UASB, and aerobic process often uses A/O, A2/O and etc. According to actual engineering experience, we summarized a set of economic and effective treatment craft:” floation +IC+A/O pool”, the effluent meets the requirement pf starch industry sewage discharging standard, COD≤100mg/L, ammonia nitrogen≤15mg/L.
